Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume married Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy on 19 and 20 October 2012 in Luxembourg City. Not only was it an important event in Luxembourg, but it also marked the last wedding of the current generation of heir apparents.
On 19 October 2012, the Prince and the Countess were married in a civil ceremony conducted by the mayor of Luxembourg City, Xavier Bettel.

The Prince’s parents, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Theresa of Luxembourg, hosted a white-tie gala at the Grand Ducal Palace. The couple celebrated their wedding with royal guests from across Europe, including King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway, Felipe and Letizia of Spain, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Caroline of Hanover and Willem-Alexander and Maxima of the Netherlands as well as Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.

The couple’s Roman Catholic wedding ceremony was held on 20 October at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg City.
While Prince Guillaume wore his Luxembourgish military uniform, Stéphanie wore a stunning Elie Saab gown that was made of lace and satin and was encrusted with pearls. The gown had a four metre train and took seamstresses nearly 4,000 hours to create.
The couple are marking their eleventh wedding anniversary this year, and have two children together- Prince Charles, born in May 2020, and Prince Francois, born in March 2023.
