Although Queen Camilla usually chooses to wear the same pieces of jewellery frequently, she made a bold new choice of brooch on Thursday for Day 3 of Royal Ascot.
The Queen chose to wear the Delhi Carved Emerald Brooch, also known as the Ladies of India Brooch, a brooch gifted to Queen Mary over a century ago for the 1911 Delhi Durbar.

The brooch features a large carved emerald with floral detailing carved on one side and a rose on the other. The emerald is set in both silver and gold and features a diamond border and accents.

A group of women in India raised the funds for the brooch, hence the Ladies of India name. Queen Mary thankfully received the gift and wore it with the rest of her Durbar jewellery for the celebrations. Notably, you can see it in Queen Mary’s official Delhi Durbar portraits.
The brooch has been valued at over £150,000.
Queen Camilla chose to wear the stunning emerald brooch with a white pleated day dress and a large white floral hat. Given that Thursday was Ladies’ Day at Ascot, with many female racegoers wearing elaborate gowns and headwear, The Queen chose an excellent day to wear the statement brooch.
