The Duchess of Edinburgh is coming up roses

The Duchess of Edinburgh was at the 117th Windsor Flower Show this weekend to open the festivities.

The Duchess spent the morning at Windsor Great Park to visit the Flower Show; Alan Titchmarsh, the Honorary President of the Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society, and Mary Berry were her guides as they explored the different floral and gardening displays, as well as local baking and crafts.

Sophie was even able to see a knitted version of herself and her husband at a Royal Variety performance. She chatted with several gardeners and bakers, as well as show visitors about the displays.

The Duchess wore an appropriately themed ensemble for the day, choosing a green floral gown and wedge espadrilles.

The Royal Windsor Rose and Horticultural Society was formed in 1892 by Queen Victoria, and is one of the oldest continuously operating horticultural societies in the world. Six royals have served as Patron, including the late Queen Elizabeth II. In May 2024, it was announced that King Charles will also serve as Patron.

The one day festival will return on 7 June 2025 at Windsor again.
