Tension in Darchula polling station as police resort to blank fire – myRepublica

DARCHULA, Nov 20: Safety personnel deployed at a polling station in Darchula fired clean pictures within the air after a conflict erupted on the polling station. The police fired three rounds within the air after the tensions broke at Malikarjun Secondary College-based polling station in Shailyashikhar Municipality-5 of the district.

The police stated that they resorted to firing pictures within the air to disperse the group that had gathered following a dispute between members of two events contesting the election.

It has been reported that the voting course of has come to a standstill because of the conflict. Police Inspector Rajesh Shahi stated that an all-party assembly is at present being held to renew voting on the polling station.
