Swedish royals begin their Paris Paralympic adventures

The Swedish Royal Family has arrived in Paris to cheer on their country’s athletes at the Paralympics. 

Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle arrived in Paris on Friday, 6 September to begin their Paralympic adventures. They will be in Paris until Sunday, 8 September to catch the last three days of the 2024 Summer Paralympics.

They all looked thrilled to be at the Palace of Versailles to watch the Para Equestrian competition on Friday. They happily waved Swedish flags and cheered throughout, and Victoria and Estelle took several selfies together. 

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were also at Versailles on Friday, and both royal families spent some time chatting.

Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle continued their very busy day and headed to the Champs-de-Mars Arena for the Para Judo competition. 

They were good luck for the athletes, as Nicoline Pernheim won the Bronze Medal for Sweden in the Women’s 70kg Judo- J1.

Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle met Pernheim after her victory and celebrate with her. 

Sweden has sent 20 athletes to the 2024 Paralympics who are representing the country in: cycling, equestrian, judo, rowing, shooting, swimming, and table tennis.
