Sofia Talvik brings folk music to Bigelow Free Public Library

For over a decade, Swedish singer-songwriter Sofia Talvik has been crisscrossing the United States and Europe in an RV with her husband and manager Jonas Westin, traveling from venue to venue to play a mix of Americana and Swedish folk music for audiences.

Talvik has spent the months of August and September playing dates that were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and driving the highways of the eastern U.S., everywhere from Alabama to Michigan to the east coast.

“It’s fun, and you can sort of tell it’s not quite back to normal with the pandemic, but it’s great to be back on the road,” Talvik said on the phone from her RV, which was parked in a Connecticut town along her tour route.
