Singapore State Visit to Belgium

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are hosting Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam on a State Visit to Belgium on March 24-26, to strengthen economic, academic and diplomatic ties.

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam were received by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde in an Official Welcome Ceremony at the Royal Palace in Brussels that included a review of the Guard of Honour, and was followed by an introduction of the Singapore Delegation and a Lunch.

In the evening, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam at the Royal Chateau of Laeken, at which both the King and President gave Speeches.

Queen Mathilde wore the Laurel Wreath Tiara, Diamond Fringe Earrings and Queen Fabiola’s Waterfall Brooch with the Order of Leopold.
