Royalty Attending the Funeral of Pope Francis

The following royalty will be attending the funeral of Pope Francis. The only European monarchy without a royal representative is the Netherlands. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will not attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday. The royal couple and their family will celebrate King’s Day in Doetinchem as planned. King’s Day (Koningsdag in Dutch) is a national holiday, marking the birth of King Willem-Alexander on April 27, 1967. The royal families of Belgium, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, and Spain are Roman Catholic.
