Royal fans discuss Meghan Markle’s ‘strategy’ behind sold out website products | Royal | News

Theories behind Meghan Markle’s ‘sold out’ product line for her brand, As Ever, are circulating on social media, with fans speculating she had a very limited number of products to sell, as advertised on one of her social media posts.

Meghan Markle launched her products today (Wednesday), and uploaded a post with the caption: “We’re live! Come shop the As ever collection I’ve poured so much love into. So excited to share this with you. *Limited quantities for each seasonal drop*.” After launch, one social media user, @baddietvv, wrote: “Meghan shared that As Ever sold out of all its its products – which includes, jam, teas, honey, a crepe mix, a shortbread cookie mix, and yes, edible flowers – in less than an hour. An Instagram post on the brand’s page even stated that these were ‘limited quantities for each seasonal drop’.”

Social media users have begun to speculate if this was true, it could be to encourage interest in her brand. One claimed: “Meghan released limited quantities & then acted proud that it was sold out. Small businesses do this to gauge interest in their brand & adjust in the future. There wasn’t much faith in her brand, her stock was so small at launch, in the 100s only or less!”

Another user on X wrote: “She did state it was limited quantities so just confirms there were not many to sell. Typical Meghan pretending she is a success.”

@Murkymegpodcast added: “This is a classic bait tactic when a new product/line is released. They only have a very limited number of products so they sell out quickly due to low volume. Don’t be fooled people.”

One social media user commented: “Limited stock, limited availability = giving the appearance that she is more popular than she actually is.”

Fans of the Duchess of Sussex, however, who were not able to get their hands on any items have taken to social media to demand a re-stock. One fan wrote: “We need restock ASAP” and another said: “Congrats but restock those shelves please.”

Celebrating her success, Meghan informed fans that she was content with the outcome of her launch. She wrote on her personal Instagram page: “Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough… for celebrating, purchasing, sharing and believing. It’s just the start @aseverofficial Here we go!”

Products included a raspberry spread, herbal lemon ginger tea, herbal peppermint tea, herbal hibiscus tea, her flower sprinkles, crepe mix, shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles included and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb.

Developed in partnership with Netflix’s CPG division, this collection offers a glimpse into Meghan’s approach to “elevated, everyday living” and is inspired by her “long-lasting love” of cooking, entertaining, and hostessing “with ease”.

The As Ever launch comes nearly two months after Meghan announced she would be refreshing her brand, previously named American Riviera Orchard.
