Niall Gardiner has blasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over a controversial video in which the couple are seen twerking, calling their behaviour “insane” and demanding they be stripped of their royal titles.
The Washington-based foreign policy expert, who frequently weighs in on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, said: “This is insane. The Queen would have been appalled. Meghan and Harry’s Royal titles should be removed as soon as possible.”
Royal biographer Angela Levin also weighed in, saying: “I’m appalled too. Just awful.” The clip, shared by Meghan to mark the fourth birthday of daughter Lilibet, has reignited fierce debate over the couple’s continued use of their royal titles despite stepping back from official duties in 2020.
Critics argue the video undermines the dignity of the monarchy and is the latest in a string of tone-deaf moves from the self-exiled royals.
