Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are brunt of awkward title joke | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were recently given the opportunity to rehome a new chicken, after Ellen DeGeneres gave them one from her flock, and it seems the bird was bestowed with a new title. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have several adopted dogs and chickens at their home in California, with Sinkie the hen joining the family back in January.

Ellen explained that the chicken had been injured and needed to be re-homed because of how her fellow chickens were treating her. When announcing the news on her Instagram page, Ellen appeared to make a joke which hinted at the title furore surrounding the Sussexes.

She captioned the post: “Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed.

“Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be. Thanks Dr Christine Sellers for your excellent care of Sinkie.”

Upon leaving the Royal Family Harry and Meghan were able to keep their royal titles, but have faced criticism for seemingly using them to promote themselves commercially on their new website.
