With Easter just days away, families across the country will be ready to celebrate the occasion together. From church services to Sunday lunches, most people will be looking forward to enjoying some quality family time, including the royals. As well as some members of the Royal Family attending a church service together on Sunday, they are also set to enjoy a roast lamb lunch, followed by a piece of chocolate or two.
While royal fans may be guessing what kind of Easter eggs the royals enjoy, it is believed the Royal Family tend to buy most of their Easter eggs from a very luxurious chocolate company. Founded in 1875, Charbonnel et Walker is one of Britain’s earliest chocolatiers and is reportedly much-loved by the royals, acting as their go-to brand to get Easter eggs from, despite the high prices. This was revealed by former royal butler Paul Burrell, who previously said Charbonnel et Walker was the royal’s chocolatier of choice.
On the company’s website, the Easter Egg range starts off at £45 usually, with a sale currently reducing this to £36.
Milk, dark and white chocolate Easter eggs are available, with each egg coming with a selection of truffles.
However, it isn’t just these big Easter eggs that form the brand’s collection. The cheapest item in the Easter range is a “Bunnies gift box”, which contains five small milk chocolate bunnies for £10.
The brand’s version of mini eggs – which come in bunny packaging – are also available for £15.
The most expensive item in the Easter collection is the Joyful Easter Hamper, which costs £140. It consists of Charbonnel et Walker favourites, including a handcrafted white chocolate Easter egg with Pink Marc de Champagne truffles.
The hamper also has pink himalayan salted caramel truffles, raspberry truffles, gold handbag with milk sea salt chocolate shoes and an oval Easter gift box with Pink Marc de Champagne truffles.
