Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has long been known for her bold fashion choices. This week, she turned to one of her favourite Dutch designers for a pretty in pink look for a museum visit- once again making a sartorial statement.
At a museum opening in Rotterdam, Queen Maxima wore a day dress from Natan Couture. The blush pink, knee-length dress has a sheer muslin cape making for a dramatic silhouette.
She topped off the look with a handmade blush hatband from Dutch milliner Berry Rutjes. Rutjes shared online afterwards that all of the flower accents were handmade.
Queen Maxima also chose unusual jewels – her diamond and kunzite earrings.
The Fenix Museum of Migration was designed by Chinese architect Ma Yansong. The museum fittingly stands at a site where thousands of people have entered and left the city via ship.
Over a hundred artists have contributed to the display, including Steve McQueen, Kimsooja, and Rineke Dijkstra.
After officially opening the museum, Queen Maxima was able to speak to artists and staff members at the museum. She saw several unique pieces, including a staged bus and a grouping of sculpted heads.
