Queen Mary of Denmark has quietly become known for her fashion, with perfect designer choices and elegant silhouettes. Unsurprisingly, her looks for the first day of the State Visit to France have once again shown that she understands the impact wardrobe can have.
After a welcome ceremony, King Frederik and Queen Mary met Emmanuel Macron, the President of France.
Her Majesty chose an entirely appropriate cream skirt-suit from French house Christian Dior. Mimicking the 1947 Bar Suit, the jacket features a nipped waist and structured shoulders.She also chose her favourite designers for her accessories, with a Jane Taylor headband, Gianvitto Rossi pumps, and Mulberry’s smaller “Islington” bag.
President Macron hosted the royal couple for a gala dinner at the Élysée Palace; Mary’s ensemble for the evening continued her streak of winning looks. She mixed both her new and adoptive countries for the look, with pieces from both Australian and Danish designers.
She wore a dramatic white blouse with full-length puffed sleeves and a high-neckline from Australian brand CLEA, paired with a sweeping, structured floral maxi skirt from Danish designer Lasse Spangenberg.
King Frederik and Queen Mary are in Paris for a three-day State Visit to France. In addition to meeting the French President, Prime Minister, and Mayor of Paris, they will be visiting the Élysée Palace, the Hotel des Invalides, and Notre Dame Cathedral.
