Comprising elongated elements studded with diamonds with three more prominent ones finished by drop-shaped sapphires framed by diamonds, those earrings were first worn by Queen Letizia in 2018, at a concert commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution, where the Queen reportedly wore a vintage dress from her mother-in-law’s wardrobe.
In 2019, the Queen also wore the Sapphire Earrings for the arrival ceremony of the royal couple’s State Visit to the Republic of South Korea.
Queen Letizia wore the Drop Earrings for a commemorative military event held to mark the 40th anniversary of King Felipe’s Flag Oath of the XLIV class of the General Military Academy in May 2024.
Two months later, Princess Leonor borrowed the Sapphire Drop Earrings from her mother for the 2024 edition of the Princess of Girona Awards. There is no doubt she will continue to wear them for years to come!
