Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the announcement of the Engagement of King Charles III and Queen Camilla! The then Prince of Wales got down on one knee as he proposed to his longtime-lover, Camilla Parker-Bowles, with a 5-Carat Engagement Ring that once belonged to the Queen Mother!
Composed of a five-carat, emerald-cut diamond with baguette cut-diamonds on each side, the exact origin of the Art Deco Diamond Ring is unknown, but it is suspected to be among the jewels from the collection of Dame Margaret Greville inherited by the Queen Mother in 1943.
The Queen Mother was photographed wearing the Art Deco Diamond Ring on a couple of cousins in the 1970s and 1980s, but it was not among her most worn pieces, and was passed on to her grandson, the then Prince of Wales, upon her death in 2002.

Camilla Parker-Bowles confirmed to the Princess that the Prince of Wales got down on one knee as he proposed with the 5-Carat Diamond Engagement Ring that once belonged to the Queen Mother.
The Engagement Ring was revealed to the world as the couple spoke to the press during a photocall ahead of an Official Dinner at Windsor Castle.
Two decades later, the Art Deco Diamond Ring continues to shine on Queen Camilla’s finger and will no doubt continue to do so for years to come!
