Queen Camilla will miss Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph.
The Queen has been advised to rest after getting a chest infection.
Her Majesty will also miss the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall which takes place on the eve of Remembrance Sunday.
In a short statement, Buckingham Palace said that The Queen has taken doctors’ advice to remain at home ”to ensure a full recovery from a seasonal chest infection, and to protect others from any potential risk”.
The Palace added ”while this is a source of great disappointment to the Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week.”
Earlier in the week, Queen Camilla had to step aside from officially opening the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey after becoming ill with a chest infection.
The Duchess of Gloucester took her place.
King Charles will be at both the Festival of Remembrance and the Cenotaph where he will lay a wreath on behalf of the nation.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent will all also attend.
