Queen Camilla has joined an excited group of students, staff, and community members to help open a new school.
The Queen helped officially open Mulberry Academy London Dock, a new secondary school for students living in Tower Hamlets. The school not only focuses on providing a strong education for students but also providing support and enriching extracurricular activities.
Queen Camilla was able to see many of the students in their lessons, including students in their science, art, and robotics classes. Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd has a partnership with the Mulberry STEM Academy where students are able to learn more about robotics in F1 racing. She even took part in a mini-F1 race where she was able to squeak out a victory.
STEM subjects were not the only focus of the day, though. Her Majesty was treated to a choir performance.
Queen Camilla was also able to meet members of Global Girl Leading, a programme that helps girls between eleven and eighteen develop leadership skills. Fittingly, she also met students studying to be writers that she celebrated as “the aspiring poets of the future”.
Her Majesty then visited the Mulberry Production Arts Academy where she was able to take in a firework and pyrotechnics display.
