The King and Queen have welcomed thousands of people working in education to Buckingham Palace for a garden party.
King Charles and Queen Camilla chatted to many of those attending the latest of this summer’s special events in the grounds of the Palace.
This garden party was organised alongside the Department of Education and celebrated the work of those involved in teaching and training for young people around the country.
Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson, was among those attending.
There was a special dance performed by the Royal Ballet School as part of the afternoon’s events.
Garden parties traditionally form the backbone of the spring season at Buckingham Palace but this latest celebration took place in glorious summer weather.
Queen Camilla added her own burst of brightness by choosing a famous royal brooch shaped like a starburst. The Jardine Star brooch was a favourite of Queen Elizabet II. For this garden party, Queen Camilla wore it with a bright white coat dress with silver trim and a wide brimmed white straw hat.
King Charles had his own fashion twist with a pale blue tie covered in submarines.
The grounds of Buckingham Palace have been filled with garden parties over the past few days and all with a focus on learning, development and skills. As well as the education celebration, the Duke of Edinburgh has hosted events for DofE Gold Award winners.
