The York sisters appear to have different styles when it comes to making public announcements involving family updates.
In particular, a personal announcement involving a pregnancy is an extremely personal decision, one would wish to carefully consider.
Although Buckingham Palace has officially shared news of the pregnancies belonging to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie over the years, Eugenie has taken an extra step to make her announcement more personal.
In addition to the formal statement issued by the Palace, Princess Eugenie has in the past uploaded personal pictures and messages to Instagram to provide her friends and followers with any additional information she wished to share.
When Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, were expecting their second child, Ernest, Buckingham Palace stated: “Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer.
The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother.”
In addition to the Palace’s message, Eugenie took to her Instagram account to upload a sweet picture of her eldest son, August, kissing her baby bump as the family posed outdoors in a muddy field.
On her account post, Eugenie shared the thrill of becoming parents again: “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.”
When Eugenie announced her first pregnancy, the royals delighted fans by sharing their pregnancy news with an adorable post on Instagram featuring a tiny pair of baby booties.
The couple’s sweet message read: “Jack and I are so excited for early 2021” and was followed by a baby emoji. The picture shared with the post showed Eugenie holding up a pair of teddybear baby shoes, alongside a snap of the beaming mum and dad to be.
August Philip Hawke Brooksbank was born at the exclusive Portland Hospital in central London on February 9, 2021, and younger brother, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank was born on May 30, 2023.
Princess Eugenie often posts a number of never before seen photos from her personal life on Instagram, choosing sometimes to share intimate images with her husband.
Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice, 36, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who are already doting parents to Sienna Elizabeth, who was born in September 2021, are expecting their second child in early spring.
This was announced by Buckingham Palace in a statement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.”
The statement continued: “His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
At the time, the Palace also released two new photos of Princess Beatrice and her family. In one image, Beatrice and Edoardo shared a warm embrace, both smiling from ear to ear.
In the second, Edoardo and his son Wolfie held hands with Sienna as the family enjoyed a stroll through a scenic woodland path.
Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi is the son of Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and his ex-fiancé, fashionable interior designer, Dara Huang.
