The Princess Royal has set out for a two day visit to South Africa on her own after an injury changed the plan.
Princess Anne is beginning a two day South African trip but will not be joined by her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, as originally planned.
Sir Tim was reportedly injured while working on the Princess’s estate, Gatcombe Park, and is now receiving treatment for a suspected torn ligament.
The Princess Royal has a busy schedule for the trip. She began her strip at the South African Riding for the Disabled Association, an organisation that provides both training and therapeutic horseback riding for people living with disabilities.
In one of her role as President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Princess Anne unveiled the Cape Town Labour Corps Memorial. The memorial has been built to commemorate 1,700 Black South Africans who died in World War II between 3 and 14 August 1914 without a marked gravesite.
The Princess Royal will also be visiting the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation while she is in South Africa.
