Prince William’s unique Monday morning routine revealed | Royal | News

Like most of us Prince William needs a bit of a boost on a Monday morning to get him ready for the week ahead, although his technique for achieving this is rather unusual.

The future King revealed he likes to rock out to AC/DC, claiming that listening to their “head-banging” track Thunderstruck is his ideal start to the week.

Speaking on the Apple Fitness+ podcast Time to Walk, William said the Australian rock band’s 1990 single is his “best tonic” for those Monday blues.

The royal explained: “There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you’re a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC – Thunderstruck.

“It absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone. I’d imagine you’re going to walk quite fast listening to it, maybe with a skip in your step, with the head-banging. It’s a difficult song not to dance to or to nod along to.”

But rock music is not the only genre on William’s playlist, as he admitted he also likes to listen to The Best, Tina Turner’s iconic 1989 cover of Bonnie Tyler’s tune.

He said in a touching moment that the song takes him back to a happy childhood memory, driving to school with his late mum Princess Diana and brother Prince Harry.

The Prince’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have all inherited his taste in music and love to choose songs to listen to in the morning when getting ready for school.

This year has so far been a tough one for the Waleses, as Princess Kate confirmed in March that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy for cancer.

It is not yet known when she will be well enough to return to public duties, as the couple are currently in a quandary over whether or not to attend Trooping the Colour in June.

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told Newsweek: “William will be on horseback so there just won’t be a carriage. I don’t think the kids will appear without her.

“The kids probably love it and it’s probably a real treat for them. You can imagine how much they’d love it.”
