The Prince of Wales promised to keep looking after his wife as he was handed a card for Catherine on his first public engagement since she announced she is being treated for cancer.
Prince William was given get well message for his wife by Rachel Candappa, one of the volunteers at Surplus to Supper in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey.
William visited the food redistribution centre and rolled up his sleeves to help with preparation and delivery.
But before he could start, the Prince was handed cards for the Princess of Wales and for his father, King Charles, by Ms Candappa who later revealed she had stayed up past midnight thinking of special messages to write in both.

The Prince of Wales then got busy chopping vegetables and preparing food before joining a delivery team as they made drops around the area.
Surplus to Supper distributes unwanted food and goods to charities, foodbanks and schools, handing out over three tonnes every day.
Everything it sends out has been reclaimed from retailers and wholesalers from goods they would otherwise have to send to landfill.
The visit marked a return to public engagements for Prince William whose last duty was in March. He has been at home helping look after his children as they were on their school Easter break. It is understood the Prince will continue to carefully manage his diary to be at his wife’s side as her treatment continues.
The Princess of Wales announced at the end of March that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after cancer was detected after abdominal surgery.
