Prince William and Prince Harry may be brothers, but over the last few years they have certainly not been friends. Since Harry quit royal life in 2020, the tension that had already started to show between the once close siblings seemed to get worse, especially as the Duke of Sussex made criticising the Royal Family publicly a frequent habit.
The tension between the pair was believed to have skyrocketed even further when Harry’s memoir Spare was published in 2023, with William and Harry, 40, reportedly having not been on talking terms since. While William, 42, has not mentioned the rift with his brother, a royal author believes that there is now a big contrast between the two siblings. Although their lives were once similar, with their daily routines focused on representing the Crown, this is now not the case for Harry, with author Robert Jobson believing that there is now a stark difference between the pair.
This difference was shown just last week, when William was carrying out royal duties while a video of Harry dancing in a hospital delivery room in 2021 with a pregnant Meghan Markle went viral after being posted by the duchess herself on Instagram.
Jobson told Hello: “The contrast between these images of the two brothers is huge: one of service and one of just silliness, really. What Harry and Meghan shared is great for clickbait, but not very good for anything else.
“William takes his responsibilities to the institution, to his father, to his family, very seriously.
“You see that in the way he looks and the way he acts. He has grown into the role of supporting his father and being a King in waiting.”
While many believe that the relationship between William and Harry is damaged beyond repair, it seems this is not the only relative Harry is not currently on good terms with, especially since moving to Montecito.
As revealed by Harry himself in an interview last month, the duke is not currently on speaking terms with his father King Charles, 76.
This is believed to be as a result of Harry attempting to overturn a Home Office decision to reduce his UK taxpayer-funded security rights, with the duke losing this case.
Like William, King Charles has not publicly addressed the state of the relationship he shares with his youngest son, who he reportedly hasn’t seen since February last year.
