PRINCE William and Kate have revealed the “profound distress” they have felt about Hamas’ “terrorist attack” in a moving statement.

The Royals shared the post on their social media account on Wednesday which said their hearts go out to all of the people affected by the events which have taken place over the last few days.

A spokesperson for William and Kate said: “The Prince and Princess of Wales are profoundly distressed by the devastating events that have unfolded in the past days.

“The horrors inflicted by Hamas’s terrorist attack upon Israel are appalling; they utterly condemn them.

“As Israel exercises its right of self defence, all Israelis and Palestinians will continue to be stalked by grief, fear and anger in the time to come.

“Their Royal Highnesses hold all the victims, their families and their friends in their hearts and minds.

“Those The Prince of Wales met in 2018 overwhelmingly shared a common hope – that of a better future.

“In the midst of such terrible suffering, The Prince and Princess continue to share that hope without reservation.”

It comes a few hours after King Charles said he is “appalled” by and condemns the “barbaric acts” of terrorism in Israel, Buckingham Palace has said.

The monarch is understood to be extremely concerned about the ongoing conflict and is being actively updated.

A Palace spokesperson said: “This is a situation His Majesty is extremely concerned about, and he has asked to be kept actively updated.

“His thoughts and prayers are with all of those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones, but also those actively involved as we speak.

They added: “His Majesty is appalled by and condemns the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.”

It comes as 17 Brits including children are dead or missing after Hamas terrorists stormed Israel, it is understood.

Fears are growing for those missing after Hamas chillingly warned they would kill a hostage for each new Israeli attack.

Israel was caught off guard as Hamas terrorists stormed over the border on Saturday – gunning down men, women and children in their homes, on the streets and at an outdoor music festival.

They dragged an estimated 150 soldiers, men, women, children and the elderly into captivity in Gaza.

Three Brits have been confirmed dead so far, and a further 14 including kids are feared killed or are missing, a source told BBC.

Scot Bernard Cowan, 57, was murdered by the terrorist group during the horror attacks.

And Corporal Nathanel Young, 20, who was serving in the Israeli Defence Forces, was confirmed dead on Saturday.

Daniel Darlington, a UK photographer, was also killed while visiting the country.

Meanwhile, Israel has now promised an even more punishing escalation as dozens of fighter jets hammered neighbourhood after neighbourhood overnight.

Forces unleashed 250 airstrikes in just one hour early on Wednesday, Fox News’ Trey Yingst reported.

The IDF said the area hit is a “Nest of Terror” used by Hamas militants to launch attacks against Israel.

It comes as Foreign Secretary James Cleverley has travelled to Israel to express the UK’s “solidarity” in the wake of the Hamas attacks, as the King condemned the “barbaric acts of terrorism”.

Both the UK and the US have been among the major states offering firm backing to Israel, but concerns have been expressed in the UN and elsewhere about the impact on civilians as air strikes continue to hit Gaza.

The conflict has already claimed at least 2,200 lives on both sides, with fears it could escalate further.
