Prince William and Princess Kate will tour the Isle of Mull in Scotland for two days and also celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary on the island. The island on Scotland’s west coast is part of lands once ruled by the Lord of the Isles – one of a number of Scottish titles William inherited from his father when Charles became King.
The visit will begin with a tour of Aros Hall, home to a community fridge saving food from landfill, a charity shop and a children’s indoor play area. They will end their day by travelling to a combined croft and restaurant on the west coast of Mull, touring some of its 50 acres of land.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will also spend time privately at Pennyghael Community Hall and on the island of Iona after taking the public ferry from Mull and meeting those who use and run the service.
The royal visit aims to highlight the importance of communities and raise awareness of protecting environmental initiatives.
William and Kate have a close connection with Scotland as they first met at the University of St Andrews and became friends before they developed a relationship and married on April 29, 2011.
Taking to Instagram, the couple have shared their excitement with a “beautiful” video of clips of Scotland. The caption read, “Looking forward to arriving in Mull tomorrow for two days celebrating and connecting with rural island communities in the beautiful Inner Hebrides”, following by the Scottish flag emoji.
