The Prince of Wales has brought his son, 10,  to Paris to watch the dragons as they take on Argentina at the Stade de Marseille.

It is the first time young George has watched an international match overseas.

William and his son wore matching navy suits with red ties as they supported the Welsh side.

The pair were greeted by World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont, France 2023 deputy chief executive Martine Nemecek and Welsh Rugby Union president Gerald Davies.

George and William were sat in the Presidential Box to watch the game.

The prince, who is gearing up for school entrance exams this autumn, plays rugby at school.

William, who is also patron of the Football Association, was criticised in May for deciding not to attend the historic Women’s World Cup final when England battled Spain in Sydney.

Kate is set to travel to watch England’s quarter-final match against Fiji at the same venue in Marseille on Sunday.

Wales finished on the top of their pool, going undefeated throughout the group stages, including a dominant 40-6 win over Australia.

William is a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union and is regularly seen at major international fixtures.

During the 2015 Rugby World Cup, when England and Wales played each other in the same pool, he was wearing a red Welsh jersey at Twickenham, while Harry wore a white English shirt.

The Wales rugby team are one of the most successful in world rugby.

The Welsh have finished third at the Rugby World Cup in 1987 and fourth at 2019 and 2011.
