Prince Louis’ favourite sport revealed by Prince William | Royal | News

In his first royal engagement since Easter, Prince William gave a helping hand loading food and cooking in the kitchen at Surplus to Supper, in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey.

On arrival at the facilities which are based at Sunbury Cricket Club, the Prince revealed his youngest son, Prince Louis “loves” cricket, as he was introduced to hosts.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’s son, Prince Louis, will turn six years old next week on April 23.

When the young Prince turned four in 2022, his birthday pictures also demonstrated his love for the sport. Released images showed a sporty Louis clutching a cricket ball while playing on a beach wearing a grey jumper decorated with stars.

The Prince was barefoot on the sand in Norfolk and looked like he was ready to bowl with a cricket ball in hand. The images were taken by his mother, Kate, Princess of Wales.

Prince Louis was born on April 23, 2018 and he is currently fourth in line to the throne, behind his older siblings and Prince William. The Princess of Wales usually releases a new photo of her children on their birthdays. However, since Kate’s Mother’s Day photo blunder in March, and her recent cancer diagnosis, it is unknown whether a photo will be released.

As his children have now returned to school after the Easter break, Prince William also returned to royal duties.

Today, his duties focused on reducing food waste and food poverty as he visited a surplus food redistribution charity.

He also lent a hand in the kitchen by joining the team of chefs as they prepared meals. The charity prepares 25,000 meals a year which are then distributed to those in need.

William also personally donated some items from his own kitchen as a gesture of support to the charity including pasta and tinned soup. Surplus to Supper is a volunteer-led charity that redistributes surplus food from large organisations to smaller community organisations, all within a five-mile radius.

Surplus to Supper operates seven days a week redistributing over three tonnes of surplus food a day with its network of 200 local volunteers.

Kensington Palace said: “Protecting the environment for future generations is one of the Prince of Wales’s key priorities.”

In addition, the Palace also said the prince is undertaking the engagements to shine a spotlight on the organisation’s community and environmental impact.

It marks William’s first engagement since March 20, as he took a short break from duties to spend time with Kate and their children during the Easter holidays. The Princess of Wales appealed for her family to have space and privacy, when she announced in a heartfelt video message to the nation in March that she had begun treatment for her cancer.

Last week, as well as spending time with his family, William took his eldest son, Prince George, to enjoy a sports match by watching an Aston Villa football game together, in their first public outing since Kate’s cancer announcement.
