Despite the amount of controversy it caused, Prince Harry is still recommending  his tell-all memoir Spare to people looking for a new interesting read.

According to Town and Country and The Sun, The Duke of Sussex attended the launch party of Godmothers, a new book shop that has opened just a short distance from his Montecito mansion, where he reportedly pointed at his own book Spare when asked for recommendations.

The book had been given a prominent position on the shelves of the store in the “local authors” section.

At the launch party, Harry was accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle along with a number of other famous faces including Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres .

As well as having his book sold at the new store, Town and Country said Harry also inspired the name of the shop.

At his own Beverly Hills book party, the prince thanked Winfrey, Victoria Jackson and Jennifer Rudolph Walsh for their support, calling the trio his “fairy godmothers.”

When plans for the bookstore took shape, Winfrey reportedly told the new shopkeepers Jackson and Rudoplh Walsh: “There’s really only one thing you can name it: Godmothers.”

The new store is just moments away from the couple’s £11m mansion and has been visited by Meghan Markle a few times since its opening, including at a book event hosted by Oprah Winfrey at the store.

Her children’s book is also displayed in the local author section of the store.
