Prince Harry ‘planned Ukraine trip to annoy brother’ as Prince William banned from going | Royal | News

An expert has suggested Prince Harry deliberately planned his trip to Ukraine to annoy his brother, Prince William. According to insiders, the Prince of Wales has been denied permission to make a similar trip due to security concerns, despite his keen interest.

Speaking to GB News, Charlotte Griffiths, Editor-at-Large of the Mail on Sunday, said: “That’s the kind of thing that would absolutely infuriate William. And for all this talk about spare Harry grumbles that he was ‘the spare’ but William has found it so frustrating, and has done all his life, that Harry gets special treatment he’s never had.”

She also claimed Prince Harry “knows exactly how to push his brother’s buttons”.

The Duke of Sussex met war victims in Ukraine on Thursday when he visited a clinic which rehabilitates wounded military personnel and civilians. Prince Harry visited the Superhumans Centre, in the western city of Lviv, where he spoke to patients and staff.

He was accompanied by a group from the Invictus Games Foundation, including four veterans who had been through a similar programme. Prince Harry, who served for 10 years in the British Army, founded the Invictus Games in 2014 for wounded veterans and their families.

Harry’s journey to Ukraine came just days after he appeared in London’s High Court, arguing that he and his family were not safe to visit Britain without taxpayer-funded police protection.

This led to accusations of hypocrisy, as he had visited Ukraine whilst claiming he needed special security in the UK.

According to the Daily Mail, the Prince of Wales is said to have voiced his frustration to Kensington Palace staff who urged him against travelling to the war-torn country.

Prince William, however, visited Estonia to support UK troops in what is now the British Army’s biggest operational deployment overseas – Estonia being strong supporter of Ukraine.

During his two-day trip to Estonia, Prince William visited some of the 900 British troops in this multinational force, including soldiers of the Mercian regiment of which the prince is colonel-in-chief.
