Prince Harry beamed as he met with Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark during the Invictus Games in Canada on Saturday.
The Duke of Sussex met the royal couple at the Vancouver Convention Centre where the tournament took place.
Harry, dressed casually in dark grey jeans, grey Chelsea boots, a black top and a khaki jacket on top, could be seen chatting and spending time with the Danish royals as they watched the match.
At one point, the duke reportedly had to be ushered out by his security after being mobbed by fans eager to take a selfie with him.
Later, the duke, who changed into a dark suit and a crisp white shirt with his grey slip-on trainers, looked elated as he celebrated the sitting volleyball finals.
King Frederik’s younger brother and his wife visited Canada for the penultimate day of the seventh edition of the tournament, which is taking place this year in Vancouver and Whistler.
It was not the first time the Danish prince met with the Duke of Sussex.
The two princes also met in 2017 when Harry visited Copenhagen for an engagement at a military training centre.
Joachim and Marie relocated from their home in France to Washington in the summer of 2023 due to Prince Joachim’s new job at the Danish Embassy under the Ministry of Defence.
It followed a decision made back in 2022 by Queen Margrethe, who decided that four of her eight grandchildren would no longer hold royal titles.
The decision meant that Joachim’s four children, Count Nikolai, Count Felix, Count Henrik and Countess Athena, stopped being styled as Prince or Princess and His/Her Highness from January 2023 but remained in line to the throne.
The Dane’s move to the US could be regarded as similar to Prince Harry’s past, who also relocated to America after quitting the Royal Family in 2020.
Neither prince can carry out royal duties on behalf of the crown; however, in contrast to Harry, Joachim is not estranged from his family.
Last year, Queen Margrethe’s son attended the accession festivities of his brother, now King Frederik X, on January 14 after their mother’s shock abdication announcement in 2023.
He was pictured hugging Frederik as they made their way into Parliament the following day.
Prince Harry’s last appearance at the Invictus Games will take place later on today when he will attend the closing ceremony and the Invictus flag will be handed to Team UK, with the 2027 game set to be held in Birmingham.
