Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal feud now a ‘public spectacle’ | Royal | News

Publicist Michael Levine said the snub is a “stark reminder” of the ongoing tensions within the family.

He told The Mirror: “This continued exclusion of Meghan and Harry from Trooping the Colour is a poignant reflection of their ongoing estrangement from the core of the British monarchy.

“Their absence for the second year running underscores the deep rifts that persist despite the pageantry and tradition that define the Royal Family.

“It’s a stark reminder that personal conflicts can ripple through the public spectacle even in the most revered institutions.”

Michael said the lack of an invite is a “significant problem” for Harry and Meghan.

The couple attended Trooping the Colour in both 2018 and 2019. The event was scaled down in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2022, the pair travelled to the UK for Trooping the Colour but didn’t join the Royal Family on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Instead, they watched the festivities from a room above the Horse Guards Parade, along with other non-working royals.

Wider members of the Royal Family are expected to make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony and join in with the celebrations for King Charles’s second official birthday as reigning monarch.

The major fixture in the royal calendar will see over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together in a great display of military precision, horsemanship and fanfare.

The display closes with an RAF fly-past, watched by members of the Firm from Buckingham Palace.
