Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a “calculated move to get attention” by attending the Bob Marley film premiere in Jamaica, a royal commentator has said but warned they have “no careers in Hollywood”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the Bob Marley: One Love premiere in Jamaica on Tuesday night.

While royal fans wondered if this was a sign that the pair might be making a Hollywood debut, an expert said they have “no careers in Hollywood”.

Speaking to Daily Express US, Royal Commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said: “There is no doubt that with the Hollywood Reporter stigmatising them as ‘losers’, Harry and Meghan are in limbo.

“Their appearance in Jamaica was a surprise but seemed more calculated to get attention during a difficult week for the royal family. It isn’t an attempt to restart their careers, they currently have no careers in Hollywood.”

They also signed contracts with streaming giants Spotify and Netflix, but last year the deal with the former was mutually ended after just one season of Meghan Markle’s podcast debuted.

Fitzwilliams thinks the pair should be careful about their next move.

“Harry does indeed have Invictus, Sentebale and the Wellchild Charity, all of which he was attached to before his marriage. They have lost Spotify, they may lose Netflix next year,” he added.
