Over 6,000 British heroes will march at King Charles’ coronation – in largest procession since late Queen’s crowning

THOUSANDS of our nation’s heroes will march at the King’s coronation — the largest ceremonial military procession since the former Queen Elizabeth was crowned in 1953.

More than 6,000 Royal Navy, Army and RAF personnel will take part and in excess of 30 Commonwealth countries will be represented.

Navy ships will give a 21-gun salute as Charles is crowned and over 60 aircraft will join in a fly-past over The Mall.

Almost 4,000 veterans and NHS workers will watch from seating in front of Buckingham Palace.

Large TV screens will show the procession in Hyde Park, Green Park and St James’s Park as more than 100,000 descend on London for the celebrations.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said: “We can be proud of the professionalism and precision of our Armed Forces as they honour His Majesty, their new Commander-in-Chief.”

Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Chief of the Defence Staff, said: “The soldiers, sailors and aviators participating are privileged to be part of this historic ceremony and all it represents.”

PM Rishi Sunak said: “I am incredibly proud of our brilliant military personnel who are preparing to honour centuries of military tradition by taking to the streets, skies and seas.”
