The film, directed by Marina Er Horbach, is presently being promoted in the USA.

On the Canadian competition it received Greatest Characteristic Movie, Greatest Director, Greatest Screenplay, Greatest Cinematography and Greatest Sound, the Ukrainian State Movie Company (also referred to as Derzhkino) reviews.

“One Horbach’s keynotes is the destruction of private, delicate, cozy desires which can be inherent in all regular lives,” Valery Myrnyy, NV’s movie critic, says of the movie in his overview.

“The form of life Ira and Tolik used to have. Not rich, however they’d every little thing they wanted: a home, a backyard, a cow, tropical photograph wallpapers, a automobile, a TV and a child on the best way – just about, a future. The identical Klondike from the title. And the ‘Russkiy mir’ (the idea of social totality related to Russian tradition and actively pushed by the Kremlin regime) took all of it step-by-step. It distorted their private paradise with its dehumanized, ideological hell, wherein everybody boils in the identical cauldron.”

Ukraine nominated Klondike for the Oscars 2023 within the Greatest Worldwide Characteristic Movie nomination. The American Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences will announce the shortlist of nominees on this class on Dec. 21. Whether or not the image will likely be included within the checklist of nominees for Oscars 2023 will lastly be identified on Jan. 24, 2023.
