Meghan Markle's Suits dad says she 'lives in bubble' so he isn't worried

She doesn’t publicly appear with the rest of the cast from Suits anymore, but that doesn’t mean Meghan Markle isn’t still friendly with her former co-stars, or that they don’t have her back.

Since leaving the show to marry Prince Harry, with whom she now shares two kids, and their joint decision to leave royal life behind, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has become the subject of intense mocking and jokes at points.

However, despite being mocked often–with she and Harry both being the subject of jokes at the Golden Globes–those that knew her when she portrayed Rachel Zane on the hit series are still standing behind her.

Not only have former co-stars like Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht spoken highly of her over the years, but her TV dad is now also weighing in on his co-star, who is facing waning popularity. 

Wendell Pierce, who portrayed Robert Zane on the series, spoke highly of her while attending the National Board of Review Annual Gala.

Addressing some of the hate she’s received, Pierce said none of that really mattered because as long as she was happy with her family, it was the only thing that was important.

“The thing about it is, I know she has [Prince] Harry, right?” he told Page Six. “And of course the beautiful kids.”

“That’s the most important thing,” he added. “So, all the other… everything else is just…outside of that means nothing, you know?”

Pierce, who revealed he is still close to the couple and saw them a few months ago, also said that he knows Markle lives in somewhat of a bubble, adding: “So it’s always good to know, no matter what you’re going through, that friends are there for you.”

His comments come after it was revealed that the Duchess is not in a group text featuring her co-stars as they consider a revival of the show.

It also came after she didn’t join Adams, Macht, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty at the Golden Globes, where they all teamed up to present an award.

However, she was unable to attend because of a conflict in her schedule, sources said.

Despite her missed connections with her co-stars, they still all do seem fond of her years after she left acting behind.
