Meghan Markle made a poignant remark this week as she reflected on her relationship with Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, said this week that her upcoming lifestyle brand is a move back to what her passions and interests were before she joined the Royal Family after marrying Prince Harry, 40, in 2018. Despite quitting royal life together in 2020 and moving to Montecito in California, it is only recently that Meghan has returned to her real love for everything lifestyle-related following the launch of her brand As Ever.
When asked in a sit-down interview with People about what Prince Harry thinks of her new business venture, Meghan reflected on how the couple are almost in a “second honeymoon period” as she has returned to doing the type of work she did when they first met. Before marrying Harry, Meghan had her lifestyle blog The Tig, which she deleted after becoming a member of the Royal Family.
She said in a poignant six-word remark: “This is who I’ve always been.”
Speaking to People, the duchess said: “My husband met me when I had The Tig, and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing the thing that I was doing when he first met me.
“It’s almost like a honeymoon period again because it’s exactly how it was in the beginning when he’d watch me scribbling away, writing newsletters, fine-tuning edits and just really being in the details of it.
“I think he loves watching as much as I love doing that creative process. It’s just been fun. This is who I’ve always been.”
Meghan also revealed in the interview that she doesn’t regret giving up her previous lifestyle blog as she loves her husband and that was what she had to do at the time.
The mum-of-two revealed: “Well, I loved The Tig, but I certainly love my husband more.
“So that was a choice I made at the time, and I wouldn’t change that for a second.”
