Meghan Markle has been tipped to make a major appearance ahead of her Netflix show’s release next month.
The Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, will air on March 4 on the streaming giant.
Now, according to a PR expert, if the duchess “plays it right”, she can align the show’s release with key media moments.
Meghan’s show will consist of eight episodes and was originally thought to have the duchess share cooking, gardening and hosting tips.
In a trailer released earlier this year, Prince Harry’s wife can be seen making various dishes in front of her friends and guests which include actresses Mindy Kaling and former Suits star Abigail Spencer, as well as chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters.
Last April, when the show was first announced, it was said that it would “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship”.
PR expert Edward Coram James, CEO of British marketing agency Go Up, told Express.co.uk how Meghan could have her Netflix show coincide with several big appearances, like another interview with Oprah Winfrey or a feature in the fashion magazine Vogue.
He said: “If Meghan plays it right, she could align with key media moments — like a big Vogue feature or a fresh Oprah sit-down (hopefully less polarising this time) — to reintroduce the show when people want this kind of content.”
But the expert stressed that the duchess should delay her show until late spring to be better prepared for it as he said March feels very “rushed”.
He explained: “From my perspective, May or June is a stronger window to launch the show. Awards season is over, big blockbusters haven’t taken over yet, and lifestyle content thrives as people start thinking about those dreamy summer days.
“March feels rushed. Late spring feels smartly curated.”
He also suggested that Meghan should continue to “utilise” her newly launched Instagram account in order to build a “real connection with her audience” ahead of the show’s release.
Mr Coram James explained: “Meghan should continue to utilise her social media platform. She’s already been a pro at this, but now it needs to be even more intentional.
“Use the platform to preview moments from the show that feel authentic. Behind-the-scenes clips, sneak peeks of her process… maybe even raw moments that let the public in.
“Her social media can’t just feel like a marketing tool, it needs to feel like a real connection with her audience.”
