Prince Archie has already made himself pretty popular at a pre-school in America, his mum Meghan Markle has said.
The young prince, who is the oldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has spent the majority of his life overseas after his parents quit the Royal Family in 2020.
For years, the family have called California home and Archie, five, has even started his education in the United States, making it very clear that a move back across the pond to the UK will not be on the cards anytime soon.
Although now at kindergarten age, it appears that the young prince has already set up firm friendships in California by bringing freshly picked fruit in for his fellow pre-school classmates to enjoy.
In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan revealed that Prince Archie was already pretty popular with other students.
The Duchess of Sussex described her young son as “the cheerful kid who brings a week’s worth of freshly picked fruit for his fellow classmates and enjoys playing a ‘roaring’ game at recess.'”
She also said that her and Harry were teaching Archie manners and how to say please and thank you.
In the interview, Meghan – who has not been back to the UK since 2022 for the late Queen’s funeral – also made it clear that Archie would never step foot in a school in the UK.
According to The Cut, the Duchess said she’d never be able to do school pickup and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures.
She said: “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child.”
It is also unlikely that Archie will follow in his father Prince Harry’s footsteps by attending the famous Eton College.
According to a well-placed source, discussions were had about sending the spare’s heir to the prestigious boarding school once attended by Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.
However, the couple have since decided that this would not be the case, with both their children set to stay in America with them.
The source said: “Harry and Meghan see Montecito as their home now and couldn’t imagine sending Archie away to school.
“They are very hands-on parents and can think of nothing worse than to send him [Archie] over to the UK when the rest of the family will remain in the United States.”
