Princess Eugenie’s independent nature and influence could rub off on her younger cousin Lady Louise Windsor, a PR expert has claimed.

The Duke of York’s youngest daughter and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, split their time between the UK and Portugal, due to Jack’s work managing a development for property tycoon Mike Meldman.

PR expert, Lynn Carratt believes Eugenie could be the perfect role model should Lady Louise consider moving abroad, and following her example.

Lynn told GB News: “Louise is a smart and sensible lady who doesn’t court the spotlight. She will be focused on developing her career and personal life away from the microscope of being a member of the Royal Family.”

She added: “There are other members of the Royal Family who have moved abroad for work. For instance, Princess Eugenie spent time working in New York after university.”

Together, Eugenie and Jack are raising their two sons August, three, and Ernest, one, between the two countries, although it is not known how the situation may change once the boys are old enough to start school.

Eugenie spoke on a podcast last year about what she loves about living abroad. She told the Table Manners podcast: “Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind, not care. No one cares.”

Lady Louise, 20, is currently a student at the University of St Andrews. She was raised largely out of the public eye and without a princess title, despite being Prince Edward’s daughter.

It has been highly debated whether Louise will become a working member of the Royal Family in the future, but she has more freedom to decide her future.

Speaking previously about her two children – including 16-year-old James, Earl of Wessex – the Duchess of Edinburgh said that her children would likely have to work for a living.

Duchess Sophie previously told The Times: “We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living.”

Lady Louise Windsor is entitled to use the Her Royal Highness title but chooses not to use it as she knows her future career will likely not involve the Royal Family, according to her mother.

Duchess Sophie added: “Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely.”

Alongside her brother James, Lady Louise grew up at Bagshot Park in Windsor, largely keeping out of the spotlight bar on special royal occasions.

After sitting her A-levels in English, drama, history and politics, Lady Louise followed in the footsteps of her cousin Prince William and enrolled at the University of St Andrews.

The 20-year-old was the late Queen’s second-youngest grandchild and shared a close relationship with her late grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, from whom she inherited a love of carriage-driving.
