Lady Louise mysteriously absent from Trooping the Colour

Lady Louise Windsor has surprised royal fans after missing today’s Trooping the Colour event. Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie’s daughter has not accompanied them to the event this year, which is held annually to mark the monarch’s official birthday.

Louise, 21, does not accompany her parents to every royal event, however is usually present at the most significant. She last attended Trooping the Colour last year, and has attended many before in the past.

While she is not a working royal and is currently studying at St Andrew’s University in Scotland, she also normally still appears alongside senior royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony. However, it seems that this is not the case this year.

Lady Louise was last seen at a royal event on Christmas Day 2025 when she took part in the annual Sandringham walkabout.

It is not known why she is not at the event today, with her brother James also missing the occasion.

While Louis may not be present, a number of royals have stepped out for Trooping the Colour today, including two of the King’s siblings Princess Anne and Prince Edward – who are both on horseback in today’s parade.

Prince William and Princess Kate have also joined the day’s events, alongside their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

Princess Anne’s husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence is also present at the celebrations, along with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The Royal Family will step out for an iconic Buckingham Palace balcony appearance this afternoon, where they will watch a Red Arrows flypast.
