but still no Harry and Meghan | Royal | News - Prince Ricardo De La Cerda
King Charles III is set to make dramatic changes to this year’s Christmas guest list at Sandringham – but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still not expected to be there.
This year marks the Royal Family’s second Christmas without the late Queen Elizabeth II, but the first where major changes to the guest list are expected.
The King and Queen Camilla will follow their Christmas tradition of attending church on the morning of the 25th, with many senior royals – such as the Prince and Princess of Wales – joining them.
In a major switch-up, the guest list will be altered, with the list set to include many members of Queen Camilla’s family, ITV reports.
Despite the extra members in tow, Harry and Meghan – along with their two children – will not be there.
As the wife of the former Prince of Wales, Camilla was regularly known to have hosted her two children and five grandchildren at her private family home in Wiltshire for Christmas.
According to a royal source, who has knowledge of this year’s festive arrangements, the Queen “has invited her children and grandchildren this year which is different from previous years.”
The extra members will also mean that the Christmas dinner table will need to be a little bigger this year.
An insider told the broadcaster: “The addition of the Queen’s family means extra space is needed.”
For this year’s celebrations, the festive lunch will now be served in the larger ballroom of Sandringham House – rather than the dining room.
Last Christmas, King Charles’s first as monarch, a few extra members of Camilla’s family were present.
This meant that an extra table was needed, but for this year’s festivities, they all “wish to dine all together”.
Friends of Prince Harry said this weekend that he and his wife Meghan Markle would like to be invited to Sandringham for Christmas – but no invite has yet been extended.
Harry and Meghan have had a fractured relationship with the family since their royal exit at the start of 2020.
The couple now live in California with Archie and Lilibet, having set up home in the US shortly after stepping down from royal duties.
