King Charles' 'favourite sandwich' contains very unusual ingredient

A delicious sandwich is hard to beat – whether it’s filled with cheese, ham, tuna or any other filling of your choice.

However, it may come as a surprise that even our King has his own unique preferences when it comes to sandwiches. According to reports, King Charles likes his sandwiches prepared in a very specific way.

A Royal expert on TikTok, known as matta_of_fact, revealed that palace chefs must allegedly follow certain guidelines. It appears that King Charles has a fondness for picnic sandwiches, which must be made in a particular way.

The content creators decided to try the recipe themselves to see how easy it was. Allegedly, the King’s Head Chef has shared the ingredients of this Royal sandwich, starting with a wheat roll that is “exactly” 8cm wide.

The recipe also requires a layer of mayonnaise, pesto and lettuce inside the sandwich. This is then topped with an egg fried with a pinch of salt, but it “must” keep its circular shape.

After this, a couple of thin slices of Gruyère cheese are added, and the other half of the bun is generously “slathered” with butter and Marmite. Once assembled, the bun should be pressed down firmly to create the perfect small sandwich.

Upon tasting the creation, the hosts admitted it was “not bad”, seeming to enjoy the flavour. As they continued to eat, they agreed it was “really good”, suggesting it might be even better if it was made by a professional. They gave it a solid eight out of 10 rating.

The video showcasing the heart-melting moment has swiftly gone viral, amassing over 5,000 views, and social media has been full of comments from those who were utterly enchanted by the clip. One user gushed: “How cute is this? I love that he found this recipe.”

Another declared: “As a British tea sandwich lover, you smashed it! Find it funny that apparently the King doesn’t eat lunch ever.”
