King Charles III has “no relationship” with his two youngest grandchildren amid the ongoing tensions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to one royal insider.

With the Sussexes now living in California, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, have not visited the UK since June 2022.

The visit, which also coincided with Lilibet’s first birthday, was made to mark the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Aside from other members of the Royal Family, the 76-year-old monarch is said to have no relationship with Archie and Lilibet.

Despite numerous visits to the UK over the past few years, Prince Harry is said to have no intention of bringing his wife and their children back to his home country.

Last week, it was revealed that President Donald Trump had no plans on deport Harry from the US despite an ongoing case surrounding his immigration records.

Following Trumps’s comments, a royal insider claims that the King would prefer for his youngest son to remain in America due to the tensions in their relationship.

The insider told the Daily Mail: “The fact is that Harry and Meghan are a source of strain and worry for His Majesty.”

Also speaking of Harry and Meghan’s children, the insider opened up on the state of their relationship with their paternal grandfather.

They added: “While he is sorry that he does not have a relationship with his grandchildren in America, it is easier for his peace of mind that there’s an ocean between him and Harry.”

Although the King is thought to have seen his youngest grandson on various occasions when Harry and Meghan lived in the UK, he is thought to have only met Lilibet once. Opening up about his children, who didn’t travel to Canada with their parents for the Invictus Games this week, Harry shared that he hopes Archie and Lilibet enjoy sports as they grow up.

The proud father told PEOPLE: “Our kids are still so young, but Archie especially is asking those questions. I’m constantly trying to make sure that I get it right in explaining what’s happened to [the competitors] and what we do at Invictus to try to make their lives better and give them a chance to redefine themselves.

“And the power of sport. I’m hoping that my kids will take on every sport they want as well, because I think it’s really important for all of us.”
