Incredible pictures show Duchess Sophie getting stuck into sailing

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, shows off her sporting prowess as she’s pictured sailing while on a solo trip to Guernsey. 

Wearing a bright blue polo shirt, navy shorts and some cool shades, the 59-year-old is pictured on board the Ocean Youth Trust South’s vessel, the Prolific. Putting safety first, the royal is always spotted wearing a life jacket. 

Sophie, who is Patron of the Association of Sail Training Organisations (ASTO), is attending ASTO’s Guernsey to Pool Small Ships race.

The event was inspired by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s 200th Anniversary, at St Peter Port Harbour, St Julian’s Pier, Guernsey.
