I’m a body language expert…King Charles is showing ‘3 telltale signs of tension’ as Prince Harry grabs headlines at home

KING Charles is showing three telltale signs of tension as Prince Harry grabs headlines in the UK, a body language expert claims.

Charles this afternoon touched down in Berlin with Camilla at his side on the first state visit of his reign.

But it comes as his youngest son jetted into London for a privacy hearing.

Harry was snapped outside court on the streets of the capital amid a secret trip earlier this week.

And while the King appears to be his usual cheery self, smiling and waving to crowds of German fans, body language expert Judi James says there are signs the Duke of Sussex is on his mind.

Charles was snapped with his usual warm grin on his face, as a flag-waving fan tried to gift him a paper crown from Burger King.

The fan said: “This is for you, if you want it.”

The King laughed and declined the offer, and continued to move through the crowded streets greeting the masses while he posed for photos.

Expert Judi said while the King is usually able to “act freezer-cabinet cool under pressure or attack”, he wasn’t today.

She told The Sun Online: “Harry’s jaunty appearance at the London law courts must have been a different type of agony for the King.”

Judi added: “But stoicism runs in Charles’s DNA and his non-verbal signals gave only the slightest hint that he might feel under any pressure.”

The expert said the King’s three telltale signs included impatience, undertaking his anxiety rituals, and baring his lower teeth.

Judi continued: “Like his previous appearance at the Commonwealth Service in London he appeared slightly impatient at times.

“Posing for the official photograph he started turning his head and torso away as though keen to get moving, while his host was still facing front.”

Speaking to the King’s anxiety, she said: “Charles patted the pocket of his coat several times, which is a common trait of his self-touch anxiety rituals.”

Judi added: ” At one point he was seen jutting his lower jaw and baring the teeth, which did suggest tension and a build-up of pressure.”

Earlier today, Charles and Camilla have shared their “great joy” as they arrive in Germany for their first Royal tour.

They met with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and wife Elke Budenbender, and are attending a luxurious state banquet together this evening.

The tour was due to start on Sunday with a quick flight to France.

However, it was quickly shelved after rioters took over the streets in 50 areas.

The anti-government marches were staged after President Emmanuel Macron raised the retirement age from 62 to 64.

Civil unrest in the country forced Macron to ask the British Government if they could postpone the King’s four-day visit.
