She was always very close to her grandmother and it seems Princess Beatrice followed Queen Elizabeth’s lead when it came to a very important piece of jewellery. Beatrice, just like her granny, had an all diamond engagement ring.
As Princess Beatrice announced her engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi all eyes were on the third finger of her left hand. And there, in the middle of the rather lovely photographs taken by her younger sister Eugenie to announce the engagement, was an all diamond ring featuring a central stone so big it might actually be visible from space.
The central stone on the ring wasn’t the only similarity that Princess Beatrice’s engagement gem had with that of Queen Elizabeth II. For both rings featured circular diamonds at their heart with the star jewel flanked by smaller diamonds on either side. Close ups Beatrice’s ring show a large central diamond set on gem encrusted shoulder flanks.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi got engaged in Italy in 2019 and were set to marry at a glittering ceremony in London the following year. However, the pandemic forced a change of plans and they instead had a quiet but very regal wedding at Windsor in July 2020, with social distancing and restricted numbers playing a part, but with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in attendance and looking rather proud of their fifth grandchild on her big day.
As their fifth wedding anniversary approaches, the happy couple are now at the heart of a very happy family. Beatrice became stepmother to Edoardo’s son, Wolfie, on their marriage and have two daughters – Sienna, born in September 2021, and Athena who arrived in January 2025.
