Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid admits ‘I’ve got goosebumps’ ahead of huge ITV schedule shake-up with extra episode

ITV1 kick-starts the morning with its usual weekday show as the cast and crew of Good Morning Britain bring us all the build up to the historic occasion from 6am.

Host Susanna Reid will be joined by Ben Shephard on location outside the Abbey.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun’s TV Mag, Susanna, 52, revealed her joy at being part of the first Coronation in Britain for 70 years.

She said: “I just feel completely honoured.

“Our coverage is dynamic, colourful and unashamedly celebratory, looking at all of the historical significance with insight and really interesting guests.

“The Coronation is the most historic, remarkable, awe-inspiring event. You sort of get shivers, don’t you?

“It’s definitely an occasion for the whole country.”

This isn’t the first time Susanna and Ben have hosted from outside Westminster Abbey, and it brings back memories of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral for Susanna.

She said: “Last year, Ben and I reported from the same position, when the Queen was laid to rest, and it was one of the most emotional events I’ve covered.

“What really set the goosebumps tingling during the funeral of the Queen was the pipers and drums – the way we do that pageantry, it’s pitch-perfect, spot-on.

“Our military is respected the world over for its involvement in events like this.”

Good Morning Britain will air until 8.30am, with ITV1 also axing Oti Mabuse’s Breakfast Show and James Martin’s Saturday Morning to continue coverage of the day’s events until 3pm.

TV Mag is available for free every Saturday, only in The Sun.
