Framingham Public Schools Advertising for Full-Time Grant Manager

FRAMINGHAM – Yesterday, July 29, the Framingham Public Schools began advertising for a Grant Manager to report to the Assistant Superintendent for PreK-12 Education with assistance from the Executive Director of Finance and Operations.

According to the job posting, the “Grant Manager will plan, direct and administer the grants program at Framingham Public Schools. This Manager is responsible for pre-award grant writing, coordination of grant applications for the District, as well as post-award support for staff in charge of grant-funded projects and grants compliance for the District. The Manager will support students, teachers, schools, and departments in the pursuit of external grant funding and ensure coordination to avoid duplication of developing grant proposals.”   

The 12 month, 260 day per year position has a salary range of $72,000 to $80,000.

Applicants should have a “Bachelor’s Degree at minimum (Masters preferred) from an accredited institution. A current and valid administrative DESE license is required.”

The Grant Manager supports & coordinates “funding for academic programs to meet the needs of students in a manner consistent with district goals. To acquire grant funding for professional development for teachers to meet the educational needs of all students in the district consistent with district goals. To ensure that the district is compliant with all grant requirements and regulations, and to document that funds are spent appropriately according to the law for federal, state, and local regulations. To research potential grant opportunities for the district and to craft or assist in crafting appropriate proposals.”

Applicants should have “knowledge and familiarity with Federal Entitlement Grants. Experience with grant writing, administration, and management. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the  Assistant Superintendent for PreK-12 Education and Executive Director of Finance and Operations may find appropriate and acceptable. Framingham Public Schools seeks candidates whose background, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of education.   • Provide support and oversight in terms of Title I, II,  III, and IV and other federal and state grants.
  • Provide oversight and ensure compliance to all Title I schools.
  • Support in-service programs and other staff development opportunities for Title I staff responding to changing regulations, systems, student or staff needs generated by a variety of causes including administrator requests.
  • Serve as a member of system-wide curriculum groups (e.g., Curriculum Management Team) to ensure consistency of goals and standard curriculum Goals.
  • Communicate goals, objectives, and applications of Title I programs to the entire school community, including teachers, administrators and parents.
  • Serve on the district-wide family engagement committee. Establish innovative and culturally responsive family engagement opportunities for the purpose of involving parents in Title I events.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and School Committee reporting Requirements.
  • Meet with data teams on a regular basis, collect, and monitor Title I statistics and data concerning Title I students, including achievement and status Information.
  • Research, monitor, and facilitate the application for DESE and other competitive grants that align with district goals by providing programmatic review and working in collaboration with sponsoring parties to log, track and ensure progress.
  • Coordinate title grant funds so that money is spent effectively and programs are administered efficiently and legally.
  • Oversee title grants-related contracts with outside providers.
  • Monitor stipends, travel, and materials expenses when title grants-related.
  • Provide support for the Assistant Superintendent for PreK-12 Education to ensure Title I equity across the schools.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Superintendent for PreK-12 Education to determine the allocations of Title I funds.
  • Share title grants information and opportunities throughout the district.
  • Meet with district and school leadership and provide financials per school as needed by the Assistant Superintendent for PreK-12 Education and the Executive Director of Finance and Operations 
  • Meet with principals and provide an accurate and thorough break-down of the Title I grant.
  • Meet with directors and provide accurate and thorough break-down of the Title II, III, and IV grants and other state and federal grants.
  • Ensure that all schools have equal and equitable access to competitive grants.
  • Develop a schedule of standing meetings with Title I principals and their teams.
  • Manage the Office of Teaching and Learning budget
  • Such other duties may be assigned by the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent for PreK-12 Education or the Executive Director of Finance and Operations.
