Prince Harry is said to have no plans to permanently return to the UK anytime soon, with four major clues hinting he has turned his back on the homeland for good.
The Duke of Sussex has been living in the US since 2020, moving there permanently shortly after stepping down as a senior working royal. Harry now resides in California with his wife, Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.
Previously speaking about his life in the US, Harry called living in America “amazing” and that he loves “every single day”.
Here Express.co.uk looks into four clues that Brits won’t see Harry returning to London in the immediate future.
As reported by the Mirror, Harry has officially cut ties recently after changing his country of residence to the US. As shown in official court documents, Harry listed the date of his move as April 15, 2023.
Another clue is that Meghan and Harry were evicted from Frogmore Cottage last year – their previous home in Windsor. A spokesperson for the couple said at the time: “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”
Thirdly, Harry previously called the US his “home” during an interview. Previously speaking to NBC, Harry said: “Home for me, now, for the time being, is in the States. And it really feels that way, as well. We’ve been welcomed with open arms and have got such a great community up in Santa Barbara.”
Lastly, Harry recently lost the chance to take his security case to the Court of Appeal. Harry has made it no secret that he feels the UK is unsafe his wife and children, as bringing them over to Britain “comes with too great a personal risk” if he has no police protection.
